NEUE WIENER CONCERT SCHRAMMELN

Peter Uhler: Violine Johannes Dickbauer / Niki Tunkowitsch: Violine
Walther Soyka/Helmut Stippich: Chromatische Knopfharmonika Peter Havlicek: Kontragitarre

The well travelled and critically acclaimed Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln excel at playing "Schrammel-Musik", a unique form of Viennese music. With their brandnew CD they explore the roots and connections of their style of music with music that was composed in neighbour-countries of the former K.u.K.-monarchy. The monarchy is long gone, the beauty of this music lives on.

The "Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln" have been charging Viennese music with a fresh wind.
The four musicians succeed impressively in joining elegance and Viennese charm
to make the sensitive interpretations of original Schrammel music a real pleasure.
The marked musical understanding and the virtuosity of each musician allows the ensemble
to make every facette of concert Schrammel music come alive, which earns it a place
within the genre of chamber music.

After numerous performances in radio and TV in and outside of Austria, the Neue Wiener Concert
Schrammeln have been able to realize 6 CD productions and tours in the USA, Canada, Chile,
Argentinia, Brazil, Colombia, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Japan, China
and many other countries in recent years.

RadioKulturhaus: "The Schrammeln"

"Well dressed as in the good old days, and they also play so well, like people must have played in former times, when everything was (probably) better. The capital violinists P.U. and C.F., as well as P.H., who is getting better and better on his precious Contraguitar, and the unique Extreme Schrammel W.S. on the button accordeon. He completed the ensemble of the NVCS, taking the place of G.H. who was unable to come to the Thursday evening concert in the ORF broadcasting hall.

Nothing can be said against a good wine, a good buffet, the sound of glasses clinking, the verbal background noise at the Heurige (typically Viennese wine locality). It has always mixed will with the entertaining character of Viennese music. However, the true core and nature of this multinational concoction turned into rhythm and melody can only be thouroughly enjoyed in concert form --
with wide open ear and heart.

The heart almost comes to a stillstand when the violinists almost make time stop with the
"Weana gmüat" (Viennese disposition). But not quite so: When the moon rises before one´s inner eye through two accordeon tones in the "Moon waltz" by Paul Linke, and when one special after another is served with the songs, dances and marches of Strohmayer, Mikulas, Schrammel, and Kammerhofer.
Additional extras: "Servas in Wean" (Hello in Vienna) by Alegre Correa and Piazzolas tango "Oblivion".
One can really feel the brace connecting everything worldwide: the blues,
the unmanipulated sadness in everyone´s genes.

It may seem humorless to speak of a hot tip in summer. But if you want to really enjoy some of the best that this city of music has to offer, then storm into the repeat concert on August 31!"
